Brings back very fond memories. Dad always had doughnuts for us at the shop. We would come with mom when she ran his errands after school. It was a very big part of our lives. Thanks,

I can remember going to the shop all the time too. He use to put are halloween chocolate candy in his fridge and then bring it home when we asked. What memories come with those pictures.

When we went to visit Dad he always had a candy bar in the fridge and he would just eat a little piece a day. Leslie and I could never understand that. Once I had a candy bar I would just eat it.

I remember the jars of milk with wax paper over the top - held on with a rubber band!

And that Dad said he liked bread with peanut butter and bread with jam - but not together!

And I can eat candy bars in little bites - but the bites are pretty consecutive!!

I had forgotten about the milk. I do remember Mom packing his lunch everyday. I know now what a chore that was. I have packed lunches for over 33 years myself.

Even though I don't remember grandpa's shop it reminds me of my dad's shop and of Grandpa Kerksiek's shop. The smell of sawdust always makes me think of my dad. They should make that smell into a cologne.

I think I am going to make lunch packing one of my kids' chores.

My mom had us packing our own lunches by the time I was in high school. Not every day, but often. (The lunches she made were always better.)

I like the smell of sawdust, too. And paint. Same reason.
